Reminder: Area Forum Monday 30th April, 7.30pm

Just a quick reminder that the area forum for Brockley, Crofton Park and Ladywell is taking place tomorrow (Monday), 7.30pm at St Andrews Church, Brockley Road.

The first part of the meeting will focus on community safety (how the Safer Neighbourhood teams are working), then there will be time for general Q&A to councillors. We would also like to hear residents' views on how to improve community engagement.

Hope to see you there.

Hi Sue

Did this meeting go ahead please? I was told by the Council receptionist that it had been cancelled.

If it did go-ahead, it would be great to know what points were discussed.

Many thanks

Nick

Hi Nick
Yes it did go ahead at St Andrew's Church as advertised and was attended by about 100 people from the 3 wards. I'm concerned that someone told you it was cancelled and don't know where they got that idea from - was that somebody at the reception desk at the town hall or someone on the switchboard?

The main topic was the Safer Neighbourhood Teams and there was discussion on what format future forums should take. In addition to this residents asked questions on all sorts of issues, from pavement cycling to the proposed betting shop on Brockley Road. A proposal from the floor, which asked for the right for area forums to place items on the Mayor & Cabinet's agenda to be maintained and more widely publicised was also voted through. Minutes will be available on the council website at some point in the next few weeks.

Sorry you didn't make it.
